Irradiation with High energy (E > 1 MeV/amu) heavy ions is effectively used throughout the world to simulate radiation damage of engineering materials exposed to radiation during operation, for example for materials and devices used in nuclear reactors or in outer space.
Clients can order ion irradiation services of client supplied samples of materials or devices in order to study the damage effects of exposure to radiation or the performance of devices and materials during exposure to radiation. CAP has accumulated many years of experience in relevant studies as, for example, microchip testing with accelerated ion beams has become an important part of the CAP activity in recent years.
